Redirect Checker
Every unnecessary redirect hop slows your site and leaks link equity. Redirect loops can make pages completely inaccessible. Trace any URL's complete redirect chain in seconds.
What does the Redirect Checker check?
Everything you need to know about your redirect checker in one report.
Full Redirect Chain
Traces every hop from the original URL to the final destination, showing each status code.
301 vs 302 Detection
Identifies whether redirects are permanent (301) or temporary (302) — important for passing link equity.
Redirect Loops
Detects circular redirects where URL A → B → A, causing infinite loops and 404-equivalent behaviour.
HTTP to HTTPS
Checks that HTTP versions correctly redirect to HTTPS (not the other way around).
WWW Normalisation
Verifies consistent redirect behaviour between www and non-www versions.
Redirect Count
Flags chains with too many hops (3+) that slow down page load and waste crawl budget.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 301 and 302 redirects?
A 301 is a permanent redirect — Google transfers link equity (ranking power) to the new URL. A 302 is temporary — Google keeps the original URL indexed. Use 301 for permanent moves, 302 for temporary ones.
How many redirects are too many?
Ideally 0–1 redirects per URL. Chains of 3+ redirects slow page load, waste crawl budget, and each hop loses a small percentage of link equity. Fix chains by pointing directly to the final destination.
What is a redirect loop?
A redirect loop is when URL A redirects to URL B which redirects back to URL A. Browsers show an "ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS" error and the page becomes completely inaccessible.
Do redirects hurt SEO?
A single 301 redirect has minimal SEO impact. But chains of redirects, 302s used for permanent moves, or redirect loops all have significant negative impacts on rankings and user experience.
